On 27th of April, 2016 at a glittering function held at Hotel ITC Maurya, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. The book “The Golden Decade: 2005-2015: My Life as Hony. Consul General” narrated by Hon’ble Mr. K.L. Ganju, o.c.v.c., Consul General (Hy.), Union of the Comoros and written by Amb. Dr. P.V. Joshi, I.F.S. (Retd.) was launched. The Chief Guest of the function was H.E. Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Member of Parliament and former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs along with Ambassadors and High Commissioners from Dominican Republic, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Eritrea as Guest of Honour.
On the 9th of May, 2016, the Dean of Consular Corps of Israel and former President of FICAC (2000-2003), Hon. Peter Gad Naschitz, was honoured by the Ambassadors‘Club of Israel as one of the two first recipients, together with the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, of the “AWARD OF DIPLOMATIC EXCELLENCE” for his unique contribution, in his capacity of Dean of the Consular Corps, to the international relations between the international community and Israel.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Yitzhak Eldan, President of the Ambassadors’Club of Israel, read a Letter of Appreciation adressed to Hon. Peter Gad Naschitz by the President of FICAC, Hon. Aykut Eken.

On the 15th of March 2016, President of FICAC, Hon. A. Eken, did a courtesy visit to former President of FICAC, 2000 – 2003, Hon. Peter Gad Nashitz who was organizing a memorial concert for his recently deceased wife, Nechama, who was a great friend of the World Federation of Consuls: Ilya Rashkowsky, laureate of the former Rubinstein Piano Competition, which Hon. Nashitz was presiding, participated to this concert.
At the memorial concert, Hon. A. Eken remembered to the attendees the full support of Mrs. Nechama Naschitz towards her husband Hon. Peter Gad Naschitz during his mandate as President of FICAC, 2000 – 2003:

Between the dates 13th and 15th of April 2016, Mr. Eken visited Jamaica. While his visit, Mr. Eken had chance to meet with Hon. Lester Michael Henry, CD, MP – Minister of Transport & Mining; Senator the Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith – Minister of Foreign Affairs & Foreign Trade (MFAFT); Ambassador Paul Robotham, CD, JP – Permanent Secretary, MFAFT.
Also he visited JAMPRO and Jamaica Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Eken as a DEIK (Foreign Economic Relations Board) Chairman of Turkey-Central America and Caribbean Business Council signed an MoU agreement with Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, Inc in order to deepen the business ties between Turkey & Jamaica.
Mr. Eken had dinner with Grantley Stephenson, President of Jamaican Consular Corps.
Mr. Eken had meeting with the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Mr. Eken as a DEIK (Foreign Economic Relations Board) Chairman of Turkey-Central America and Caribbean Business Council signed an MoU agreement with Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc in order to deepen the business ties between Turkey & Barbados.
Mr. Eken also made courtesy visits to the several Ministries in Barbados.
Between the dates 2nd and 8th of April 2016, Mr. Eken visited St. Kitts and Nevis. Mr. Eken had meeting with St. Kitts-Nevis Chamber of Industry & Commerce, Inc. Mr. Eken as a DEIK (Foreign Economic Relations Board) Chairman of Turkey-Central America and Caribbean Business Council signed an MoU agreement with St. Kitts-Nevis Chamber of Industry & Commerce, Inc in order to deepen the business ties between Turkey & St. Kitts and Nevis.
Mr. Eken also met Dr. The Hon. Timothy Harris, Prime Minister; the Hon. Mark Brantley, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
