Hon. Dr. Marko Smole, Member of FICAC Board of Directors, visited the Expo 2022 in Dubai as a member of a delegation of the Slovenian Consular Corps led by its President Mr. Janez Škrabec

At the Slovenian pavilion we organized, in cooperation with Slovenian Embassy in UAE, a business meeting with international partners the aim of which was to increase Slovenia’s visibility as a credible and strong business partner and an attractive tourist destination. The event complimented the initiative Living with a Green Heart, which places emphasis on the sustainable aspects of living and working. Honorary Consuls organized their own visits of each of their countries’ pavilions, which contributed to visibility of their countries, promotion of business and tourism.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia H.E. Oto Pungartnik took the opportunity to point out the importance of the working of Honorary Consuls in advancing Slovenian businesses internationally. The meeting took place with the backing of the entire team, which has successfully ensured the great presentation of Slovenia at the EXPO for the past 4 months, headed by Matic Volk and director Jurček Žmauc.
