We are deeply honoured and privileged to inform all the members of HCCD-India that Hon. Purrshottam Bhaggeria, Secretary General of FICAC & HCCD-India had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of FICAC with Satyarthi Movement for Global Compassion (SMGC) on July 10, 2023 & Rear Admiral Mr Rahul Kumar Shrawat (RETD), M.D of Kailash Satyarthi Trust signed the MOU on behalf of SMGC. During the discussion Hon. Satyarthi, assured us of his support & has assured to help us in getting in touch with fellow Nobel Laureates.
During Secretary General’s discussion with Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, he emphasized that the Sustainable Development Goals cannot be achieved globally unless we put an end to child labour. Children engaged in child labour are denied social protection, education, and healthcare.
Currently, Mr Satyarthi’s focus is on Africa, and he believes that the international community must step forward with a sense of urgency and moral responsibility. He seeks the advice of responsible individuals in society, including Honorary Consuls, to drive global attention and action towards the issue of child slavery and child labour in Africa. He aims to support ongoing efforts to realize the shared vision of ensuring every child in Africa to be free, safe, healthy, and educated.
Furthermore, FICAC can serve as a bridge between Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi and various consular associations worldwide, facilitating the organization of meetings during Hon. Kailash Ji’s presence in different parts of the world. This will allow the members of those associations to benefit from the wisdom and experiences of Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi.
