The annual FICAC race fulfills an important role to promote and support collaboration, cooperation and friendship among the countries by bringing together Ambassadors, Career Consuls and Honorary Consuls who are essential for international relations and diplomacy.
The 8th FICAC horse racing event recently was held at the Kocaeli Kartepe race course and was organized by the President of FICAC and Honorary Consul General of Jamaica in Turkey, Mr. Aykut Eken once more. RHYTHM DIVINE (Torok – Stainless / UNACCOUNTED FOR), owned by Mr. Murat Çağımnı, winning first place with a time of 1 minute 26 seconds.RHYTHM DIVINE’s owner was awarded the trophy by the President of FICAC and Honorary Consul General of Jamaica in Turkey, Mr. Aykut Eken and he received a monetary award of 62.500 TL. President Mr. Eken also presented plaque to Kocaeli Racecourse Manager Mr. Kaan Eren.
The first FICAC horse race was held in 2009 at the Izmir Hippodrome. Three races in Istanbul followed by Adana, Bursa, Ankara before this year’s event in Kocaeli.
