On 29th of April, 2017 the Consular Corps of Turkey organized a Regional Meeting in Bursa, Turkey. Honorary Consuls of Bursa welcomed the Consuls who came around different parts of Turkey. On the occasion of this gathering, plaques was given to the memory of the meeting to Hon. Murat Tarman, Honorary Consul of Pakistan; Hon. Oya İzmirli, Honorary Consul of Italy and Hon. Mehmet Erbak, Honorary Consul of France.
Hon. Aykut Eken attended to the meeting as President of the World Federation of Consuls and Honorary Consul General of Jamaica and at this occasion, Hon. Aykut Eken had a chance to share FICAC activities and FICAC’s aims and goals to the Honourable Members of the Consular Corps of Turkey.
The Government of Turkey and I are delighted that the 11th FICAC World Congress of Consuls will take place on November 18-22, 2015, in Istanbul, Turkey. Istanbul, located on two continents, is the country’s economic, cultural and historical center and is a unique crossroads between east and west.
Recently, the Fifth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released last year reported that the climate is already changing and the impacts are already being felt. And, further climate change is inevitable in the coming decades. The scientists have reported, and I quote “Climate change – once considered an issue for a distant future, has moved firmly into the present”.
