The annual FICAC race fulfills an important role to promote and support collaboration, cooperation and friendship among the countries by bringing together Ambassadors, Career Consuls and Honorary Consuls who are essential for international relations and diplomacy.
The 7th FICAC horse racing event recently was held at the Ankara 75. Yıl race course and was organized by the President of FICAC and Honorary Consul General of Jamaica in Turkey, Mr. Aykut Eken once more. BADARBUNGA (Victory Gallop – Bionic Angel / Barnato), owned by Mrs. Gizem Çakmakoğlu, winning first place with a time of 1 minute 35 seconds.
BADARBUNGA’s owner was awarded the trophy by the President of FICAC and Honorary Consul General of Jamaica in Turkey, Mr. Aykut Eken and she received a monetary award of 70.000 TL. President Mr. Eken also presented plaque to Ankara Racecourse Manager Mr. Mehmet Şirin Bozkurt.
The first FICAC horse race was held in 2009 at the Izmir Hippodrome. Three races in Istanbul followed by Adana and Bursa before this year’s event in Ankara.
