Proposed Proramme for World Congress of Consuls 2012

Day 1
Sunday 11 November 2012
(or Saturday 10 November 2012)

• Arrival at Nice airport (reception) and the Hotel Hermitage
• Registration for delegates and delegations
• Management Committee meeting
• Cocktail Reception (given by ACHM)

Day 2
Monday 12 November 2012 World Conference Sessions with presenters

• Opening Ceremony in the presence of Senior Monegasque Authorities, speeches and the opening of the event by H.S.H the Sovereign Prince (approx. 10:00 a.m.), the Eiffel Room in the Hotel Hermitage
• Presentations throughout the day; key speakers
• Organisation of coffee breaks
• Lunch – with a speaker on topical subject
• Dinner (venue to be decided) with speech by the President of FICAC)

Day 3
Tuesday 13 November 2012 FICAC Annual General Meeting

• AGM and Elections (with all rep resentatives and delegations)
• Official Gala Dinner – evening dress (black tie)

Day 4
Wednesday 14 November 2012
Departure of Conference Delegates or “Federation” and “Tourism” Day

• To be able to better “inform” the Honorary Consulate Corps as regards their function on the basis of an information centre, suggestions and training
• Reception and lunch in a major outstanding venue in the Principality (e.g. room in the Oceanographic Museum).

In its over 32 years of existence, FICAC has grown in strength and influence as an effective international body promoting the office of Honorary Consuls and Consuls worldwide and engendering a better understanding of their duties and responsibilities, as well as their rights and privileges.

It is a source of great pride to Jamaica that one of our very own, Honourable Arnold Foote, OJ, has been the President of the World Federation of Consuls since 2006.

Honourable Arnold Foote, we salute you and commend you and FICAC for the excellent role being played in the service of global consular relations and diplomacy and in the promotion of the economic and social development of Latin America and the Caribbean.
