Mr. Aykut Eken has been honored with “High Service Sheild” by H.E. Ali Babacan, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and new State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister and Ertugrul Apakan The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey.
Award Ceremony held with respect to presenting of “Ministry of Foreign Affairs Eminent Services Plaque” to Mr. Mehmet Aykut Eken (July 3rd 2009-Time 17:30)
– At the present day, the role of the business world in terms of the representation and presentation activities of our country at abroad is tending to increase and co-operation in this field carries importance and priority in particular.
– With this approach, our Ministry has been presenting “Ministry of Foreign Affairs High Merit Shield” as a symbol of appreciation to native and alien, legal and real persons who took place at Republic of Turkey’s presentation at international basis, who leaded the succesful application of its Foreign Policy and contributed to the preservation and development of its rights, who have shown eminent success and merit at the presentation of Turkey and the History of Turkey, its language, culture and art.
– This expressive award is deemed worthy this time to Mr. Mehmet Aykut Eken who has made immensily valuable contributions to the presentation of our country at abroad as deserved.
– Mr. Mehmet Aykut Eken, born on September 9. th 1947, residing in ?stanbul and Brussels, has companies and investments in our country as well as in countries like Belgium, Spain, Argentina, Albania, Macedonia, Kosovo, Bosnia Herzogovina. Mr. Eken who is Honorary Consulate General of Jamaika in Istanbul is currently holding Turkey-Belgium Chamber of Commerce Second Presidency, Turkey-Brasil Work Council Presidency, T�S?AD International Board of Management Membership, DEIK Membership, Turkey-Latin America and Caribbean Commerce Association Presidency, World Honorary Consulate Generals Association Accountant Membership and various medals.
– Within this frame, upon request, Mr. Eken,who is in close co-operation with diverse units of our Ministry, with his businessman idendity, is allowed to act as a representative of our Ministry by using primarily his own possibilitities, is also allowed to go abroad to make contacts regarding the follow up of foreign affairs matters that are attributed significant.
– Mr. Eken, who supports the project of Izmir’s nomination to EXPO 2015 voluntarily, helped in propia persona together with his wife Mrs. G�n�l for this purpose, attempted at the basis of countries that are member of International Exhibition Bureau within the Carribean Area and as a result of this contacts in propia persona provided some Carribean countries to vote for our country, likewise performed intensive efforts within the frame of the campaign carried on for the temporary membership of our country to United Nations Security Council, made contacts in Carribean keeping in coordination with our United Nations Permanent Representation.
– We would like to express our gratitudes on behalf of our Ministry to Mr. Mehmet Aykut Eken for his unique activities to present our country and its cultural values at international level.
– Within the framework of these opinions, as an expression of appreciation for his hereby mentioned admirable services, we do have honour to consign the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Eminent Services Plaque and Diploma to Mr. Mehmet Aykut Eken, tendering to him our thanks on behalf of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Community.
